At the recent 60th Anniversary Eurovision Concert staged by the BBC at the Eventim Apollo we were lucky enough to bump into the BBC’s John Escombe.

John works for the BBC’s History department and has been a keen follower and fan of the Eurovision Song Contest since the 1980s. He told us about the origins of the competition, the BBC’s history of staging the contest and his pick of this year’s competition…
